FAQ

The bathroom is on the print side, past the Student Media Staff cubicles and down the hallway.

To get access to Media Cluster, please contact the Operations Coordinators (studentmedia@ucsc.edu) to have your account setup. To activate your EZ Office account, please contact the Equipment Managers (sctvequipment@gmail.com).

Log in to a computer, open a Finder window, and find “Media Cluster” in the networks segment of the library section (on the left).  Click “Connect” in the top right corner and input your username and password to login.

Media Cluster is separated into different folders, VideoHD, and folders dedicated to broadcast/print organizations. Your footage will be found in your organization’s respective folder.

Contact the Equipment Team at sctvequipment@gmail.com to schedule a time to make up the workshop individually. We do not guarantee that we will be able to accommodate make-up workshops.

Please come in person and explain that you would like to check out available equipment. If there is equipment that is completely available, we will gladly check it out to you.

XLR cables are given to you automatically depending on what you’ve checked out. If you check out a boom kit, for example, you will be given one without you needing to check one out individually.

    1. Broadcast: sign in using the “Guest account,” there is no password
    2. Print: Sign in by typing “guest” into the username bar, and hit enter twice.

Contact the equipment team during business hours to let them know that you will not be able to meet your check-in time. You will need to reschedule your check-in. If you miss your check-in with no communication, penalties may be applied.

Snacks that are provided by Student Media are for the staff and members of Student Media organizations. Please enjoy, but not at the computers.
